In the heart of Tampa Bay, where cultures converge and creativity thrives, Paula Sofia Gomez found her calling—a path where music, heritage, and community come together in harmony. Her story, however, begins thousands of miles away in the lively streets of Barranquilla, Colombia. It was there, surrounded by the pulsing rhythms of salsa, merengue, and pop, that Paula first discovered her love for music. From childhood melodies to the spotlight of stages across genres like Latin, rock, and disco, she spent over 26 years performing—always with heart, always with purpose.
But in 2023, a new chapter began.
When Paula moved to Tampa Bay, she brought more than her voice—she brought a vision. It was in this vibrant coastal city that Paula Sofia Singer LLC was born: a company fueled by passion, grounded in culture, and built to empower. With this new platform, Paula set out not only to create music that celebrates Latin roots but also to uplift communities and inspire through storytelling. For her, music wasn’t just sound—it was a message, a movement, and a way to connect souls.
As her artistry flourished, so did her reach. She began to collaborate with local media partners like Mas con Filippo TV, DEAL Magazine, and others, blending entertainment with authenticity. Her brand grew beyond music, becoming a cultural force—one that spoke to the dreams and identities of many.
But behind the spotlight, Paula wore many hats. A seasoned professional in the world of business and technology, she held two MBA degrees, carried the title of Certified Project Manager, and was deep into her cybersecurity certification while leading complex information security projects in her day job. It was this unique balance—creativity and technical prowess—that shaped her entrepreneurial path. Paula didn’t just sing songs; she built strategies, crafted visions, and led with intention.
Her journey, however, wasn’t without obstacles. As a Hispanic woman navigating an industry often tilted toward mainstream trends, Paula knew what it meant to be overlooked. “The biggest challenge was finding my space while staying true to my roots,” she reflected. But instead of dimming her light, she chose to shine brighter—fusing traditional Latin rhythms with modern sounds and staying loyal to the culture that raised her.
And her impact reached far beyond the stage.
With a heart for service, Paula championed causes that mattered deeply. She joined forces with Agatha’s Recovery Fund, helping victims of domestic violence and immigration struggles, and worked closely with the Tampa-Barranquilla Sister Cities Committee, strengthening ties between two worlds she calls home. Her performances—whether at festivals, charity galas, or cultural celebrations—became more than entertainment. They became acts of hope, pride, and empowerment.
Much of her professional and personal growth, Paula credits to her involvement with the Tampa Bay Latin Chamber. “Being part of TBLC has given me access to a network of professionals who truly want to see each other succeed,” she shared. Through the Chamber, she found not only collaborators but a community—one that amplified her voice and shared her mission.
And just recently, Paula’s voice echoed even louder. She lit up the stage at the Carnaval de Barranquilla in Miami, performing for a sea of over 2,000 people who swayed and danced to the rhythms of their heritage. Soon after, she brought that same fire to Clearwater’s Sugar Sand Festival at Pier 60, where more than 1,000 beachgoers celebrated under the open sky. In the midst of it all, she released Que Será?, a song pulsing with emotion and hope—another heartfelt addition to her growing musical legacy.
Still, for Paula, this is only the beginning.
She envisions a future where she can mentor the next generation—young professionals, artists, and entrepreneurs who, like her, dream of making a difference. Through educational programs and mentorship platforms, she hopes to guide others as they navigate the delicate balance between creativity and business. Paula isn’t just building a career—she’s building a bridge for others to cross.
Her advice to those just starting out?
“Stay authentic, keep learning, and build strong relationships. Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about perseverance and community.”
In every note she sings, every cause she uplifts, and every professional she mentors, Paula Sofia Gomez is leaving her mark—not just as an artist, but as a changemaker. Through music, leadership, and a deep love for her roots, she is not only shaping a career—she’s creating a legacy that will inspire for years to come.
